What “Published with access from” means

You may have noticed that some listings on TotalCommercial carry a small credit that says “Published with access from” followed by the name and logo of a company or organization. We want to be clear about what that credit means, and just as importantly what it does not mean, so that you always know who you are dealing with.

The listing agent is always your point of contact

Every listing on TotalCommercial is published by a licensed commercial real estate professional. You will find that person in the Listing Agent section of every listing page along with the brokerage they work with. They are the ones who know the property, they are the ones responsible for the listing, and they are the ones you should call or email when you want to learn more.

Nothing about a “Published with access from” credit changes that. The agent is still the agent.

Why the credit is there

Since the very beginning TotalCommercial has been built around the companies, associations and networks that make up the commercial real estate community. Many of them hold an organization account with us so that their members and agents can publish listings under that account rather than paying for one on their own.

When an organization buys listing access and gives it to an agent, we credit that organization for making the listing possible. That is all the credit is: the organization provided the access, and the agent published the listing. It is our way of recognizing the organizations that support their people and, in doing so, support the TotalCommercial Community.

What the credit does not mean

A “Published with access from” credit does not by itself mean that the organization is the listing brokerage, that it owns or represents the property, or that it took the photographs or wrote the description. The photos, documents and property details on a listing come from the listing agent, and it is the listing agent who is responsible for having the right to publish them.

Where an organization is in fact the listing brokerage you will see it named with the agent in the Listing Agent section, which is where that information belongs.
