The unique 551 acre tree farm is located in Weeki Wachee, just south of the Chassahowitza National Wildlife Refuge. The site has conservation easements on 200 acres of the property and has a number of springs, pools, and creeks. About 50 acres are planted in Longleaf Pine with the balance in a variety of native pines and native hardwoods. There is a hunting cabin, tennis court, 2 barns, & multiple mobile homes on the property.
Location: 60 miles± north of St. Petersburg in northeast Hernando County. To the east is the subdivision Royal Highlands. Adjacent to the parcel to the north is the Chassahowitzka National Wildlife Refuge, over 31,000 acres of saltwater bays, estuaries and brackish marshes at the mouth of the Chassahowitzka River. The refuge was established primarily to protect waterfowl and is home to 250+ species of birds, 50+ species of reptiles and amphibians, and at least 25 different species of mammals, including the endangered West Indian Manatee. A boat ramp to the Chassahowitzka is maintained by Citrus County. Access is from Zebrafinch Ave. off U.S. 19.
