The immediate neighborhood is characterized by the presence of Amgen Manufacturing Puerto Rico, one of the world’s largest biotechnology companies, currently employing approximately 2,000 workers in its Juncos facility. Other important players include Medtronic and Becton & Dickinson. The neighborhood’s boundary limits can be delineated as follows: State Road PR-31 to the north and northwest, State Road PR-30 (Ortiz Stella Expressway) to the southwest, and the boundary limits between Juncos and Las Piedras Municipalities to the south and east.
The area is about 50% built-up and general access is provided by way of State Road PR-31, the main artery of the area. Important residential developments of the area include Colinas de Juncos, Estancias de Juncos, Jardines de Ceiba Norte, Laderas de Juncos, Estancias de la Ceiba, Portales de Juncos, Praderas de Ceiba Norte (I, II & III), Paseo de la Ceiba, Rancho Bonito, and Mansiones de Juncos, among others.
