From Houston or Beaumont and Louisiana, SH 61 south of I-10, is the primary corridor to hunting, fishing and/or water recreational activities on the east side of Trinity Bay and further south to Smith Point. I-10E @ SH 61 is a significant intersection east of the Trinity River with regional implications for future mobility from Hwy 90 in Liberty County down to Anahuac (Chambers County Seat) and further south along the east side of Trinity Bay to Oak Island, Smith Point, High Island, Bolivar Peninsula and Galveston.
